Merge — Terms of Service

What this is

Merge is a commercial subscription service operated by Entangled World ("we"): a private shared calendar for your household, synced with the Apple and Google calendars its members already use. These terms are an agreement between us and the subscribing household. By subscribing, or by signing in as a member of a subscribed household, you agree to them.

Accounts and households

• One adult subscribes on behalf of the household and is our customer. They are responsible for who they add, including children.
• Only people added to a household by that household may use it. Accounts are not transferable.
• You are responsible for keeping your Google account and any Apple app-specific password secure.

Fees

• Merge is a paid service. The price, billing period and payment method are agreed when the household subscribes.
• We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price change takes effect.
• If payment fails or lapses we will contact you before suspending the household. Suspension pauses sync and access; it never touches the calendars in your own Google and Apple accounts.

Your calendars

• You may connect only calendars you are entitled to connect. Do not connect an employer's calendar if your employer forbids it.
• Anyone in your household can see the calendars you share with the household. Calendars can be shown in full, as plain busy time, or kept private to you — choose accordingly.
• Your calendars remain yours and remain in your own Google and Apple accounts. If Merge stops working, or you leave, nothing in your own calendars is lost.

What we will do

• Keep your household's data separate from every other household's.
• Handle personal data as described in the privacy policy.
• Give reasonable notice before any change that removes features or affects how data is used.
• On cancellation, delete the household's data on request — first removing any events Merge added to members' own calendars, so nothing of ours is left behind.

Service limits and liability

Merge is provided as-is. It is a convenience layer over calendars that live with Google and Apple; sync can be delayed or interrupted by outages at Google, Apple or our hosting provider, and we do not guarantee a level of availability. Merge is not a system of record — do not rely on it as the only copy of anything.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to a household is limited to the fees that household paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Acceptable use

Do not use Merge to break the law, to access a household or calendar you have no right to, or to interfere with the service or other households. We may suspend a household that does.

Cancellation

The subscriber may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. Any member may stop using Merge at any time by revoking access in their Google account. We may end a household's access with at least 30 days' notice, or immediately for breach of these terms — in either case with a refund of any unused paid period, except in the case of breach.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially we will tell subscribing households at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Merge after that is acceptance.
